It is always a pleasure to start a meeting with the induction of a new member. I still remember the induction I had years back at my home club, Dorval, it brought tears to my eyes … Welcome, Epitace Nobera, to Beyond Words Advanced Toastmasters!
Aymen Sakka did a fine job as Toastmaster first-timer, introducing our educational session and presenting our speakers:
- Marie-Chantal Côté – CC#5 (her second CC manual) – “The Climate Change” … always good to redo a CC manual and keep those basic speech skills honed!
- David Galipeau – Humorously Speaking #1 – Warm up your audience – “Be Free, Be Alive” … hilarious joke about his sexy sports car, engine sound included!
We had to Think Fast! during the Table Topics portion of the educational session, led by our Topicsmaster, Bonnie Mak. This was followed by an efficient Coaching Session with Roberto Di Benedetto as GE. He introduced four on-point speech evaluators, and led two interesting round-robin speech evaluations. The advanced timer and a grammarian reports, by Pierre LeBlanc and Gaétane Ferland, were concise and helpful.
